World’s First Full HD 3D Projector Launched- Time to Revamp Your Home Theatre Again?

Yes it is! Come September, and this fully loaded piece of technology is going to drive the techno-markets crazy. Panasonic has announced its and the world’s first Full HD 3D home theatre projector, the PT-AE7000U. The first projector ever to be using transparent LCD panels powered at 480 Hz, with full HD 1080p 1,920 x 1,080-pixel resolution, a recently developed optical engine reinforced with Panasonic’s own Overdriven technology, and an incredibly high contrast ratio (300,000:1) and brightness (2,000 lumens) using a combination of Dynamic Iris Pro, Pure Contrast Plates and Pure Color Filter Pro, the PT-AE7000U is sure to drive LCD and Plasma TVs into the junkyards! And believe me, this isn’t an exaggeration. Panasonic’s PT-AE7000U renders spectacular 2D and 3D images for the ultimate cinematic experience, and why not? The Panasonic PT-AE7000U projector has been developed in collaboration with Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory engineers after all, who were the masters behind the 3D Blu-ray Disc technology.

Watch your 2D collection in 3D

The Panasonic PT-AE7000U comes with inbuilt 2D to 3D conversion, making it an attractive option for those wishing to watch their beloved 2D movie collections in 3D. There are five different 3D modes available. Moreover, it has three possible HDMI inputs that support x.v.Color and Deep Color, so you can use several HD sources without the need for adding an HDMI switcher.

Is that it?

Certainly not. This projector has intelligent lens memory that allows users to program up to six different zoom and focus positions, enabling a more enriched viewing experience. Its signal aspect detection capability makes it possible to automatically switch between 16:9 and 2.35:1 video content, so that those using Blu-ray discs and DVDs whose aspect ratios exceed the projector’s size, won’t have any trouble switching between the aspects.

And what about the environment?
This has been taken care of too. The Panasonic PT-AE7000U is an ecological product designed with an intelligent power management system, which keeps a check on the brightness based on the displayed content by adjusting the lamp power. Advanced Panasonic digital circuitry intelligently reduces power consumption by 10 percent by choosing the most efficient power output after analyzing over 3 billion image patterns, thereby saving significant energy. With very low power consumption (0.08 watts) in the standby mode, and an off-timer to prevent unnecessary wastage of power, the lamp life of Panasonic PT-AE7000U is 4,000 hours in the normal mode and 5,000 hours in the eco mode.

Pricing and launch date

As is the adage, all good things come at a price, but this one comes at a HUGE price. The Panasonic PT-AE7000U will hit stores next month, i.e., in September 2011, and will cost 3,499 US dollars. The product won’t be shipped with 3D glasses, but buyers can by them as accessories. Its time of arrival and pricing in India isn’t yet available, and whether the product will find a niche in the Indian markets, is still under prediction.

This Japanese technology is bound to revolutionize 3D home theatre entertainment. Time to get those movie collections running…
