Blackjack tips and strategies
Blackjack is the game for those on the lookout for easy money. It is not only popular in casinos but is also a rage in the digital world. Though popular, it is fairly confusing and difficult. The aim of the game is to get close to but not exceeding 21 points per hand.
Winning strategies and tips for blackjack are many, but the trick is to choose those that work best for you. Here are a few tips to remember, for an easy win.
ü Remember, whatever cards the blackjack dealer shows you; he
may still have a hidden ten.
ü The game of blackjack is always in the dealer’s favor. When
both you and the dealer exceed 21, you are the looser, not him! Keep this in
mind while planning a strategy.
ü If the first two cards you draw are equal or less to
eleven, draw another card, always. If the dealers card shows any number between
2-6, don’t draw another card. But, in case you have a 12 and the dealer has a 2
or 3, you can draw one more card.
ü When your cards total to 12-16, plan your next step according
to what the dealer is showing.
ü If your cards total to 17-20, never draw another card.
However, when you have a soft 17 or 18, i.e. an ace plus a 6 or 7, you can draw
another card, but the dealer should be showing a card from 9 to an ace.
ü Double down if you have a 10 or 11. Split all the pairs
when the dealer shows a card, which is less than 6.
ü Remember to split all aces and eights.
ü If the hand is 16 or lower, the dealer must take a card.
Remember that unless the dealer exceeds 21, it will be impossible for you to
win with a total less than 17. Always take a card on any hand less than 17, if
the dealer is showing a card which is 8 or higher.
ü If the dealer shows 4,5, or 6, stand on any hand over 11.
This works to the player’s advantage 40% of the time.
Every time you go for a blackjack, you should also
remember the following:
ü Never ever go for insurance.
ü The table you choose must have a minimum no more than 5% of
your total stake. Choose the table whose rule variations suit your strategies.
ü Wherever you play, ensure you manage your stash well, as
blackjack is like a roller-coaster ride with many ups and downs. Be prepared to
risk to win, as it is the basis of the game.
ü You must always set a limit to your bets. You must have a
clear idea of how much you can afford to risk and loose. Never bet more than
you can afford.
ü It is better to double down, i.e. to double your bet to
receive an additional card, if you have a feeling that you can beat the dealer.
If done wisely, doubling down always works towards the player’s advantage.
